Allah knows what's best for us!

I ask for strength - And Allah gave me difficulties to make strong

I ask for wisdom - And Allah gave me problem to solve.

I ask for property - And Allah gave me brain & brawn to work.

I ask for courage - And Allah gave me danger to overcome.

I ask for love - And Allah gave me troubled people to help.

I ask for favors - And Allah gave me opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted...

I received everything I needed!

Story of Ikrimah RA and Halimatus Saadia RA

After Fattah Mecca, Ikrimah came to embrace Islam. Prophet S.A.W asked all the sahabah RA not to curse his father (because the sahabah used to say 'la'natullah 'ala Abi Jahl) in his presence. When Ikrimah came, Rasulullah SAW stood up & greet him w/ smiling face.

At a battle, Ikrimah RA got off from his horse (a sign for martydom).  Khalid RA urged him to stay alive, because they need him for his strength. Ikrimah RA replied, "You embraced Islam during Fattah Mecca, but what about me? I haven't done anything for Islam. Let me compensate for what I've done by this."

-> Rasulullah SAW & companions RA sacrificed their feelings, for the fikr on Ikrimah to become Muslim.

-> Ikrimah's respect on Khalid, although Khalid embraced Islam just a little bit earlier.

Halimatus Saadia took body of Rasulullah SAW

-> orphan

-> noble but poor

-> recognized, but other people prefer richer babies

What happened as a result, Allah gave her & her family blessings.

-> This effort of daawah is an orphan, noble but poor, recognized, but people prefer other things

Insha Allah, Allah will give blessings to those who take care of this effort.

Iman

A sahabiyah RA had her son martyred in a battle. She told Prophet SAW about her grief. Prophet SAW replied that if she wants, he could show her son walking in Jannah. But the sahabiyah RA refused. When she returned to her village, people asked her, why did you let go that chance? She said, if after Prophet SAW said that, and I agree to see it, it is as if I don't believe what Prophet SAW said, and have to confirm it with my eyes.

An army was told by its amir, not to attack until he gives such order. When they confronted the enemy, the enemy started attacking them with arrows and a few sahabis RA were martyred, but they didn't retaliate, since the amir kept quiet. After awhile, the amir shouted, Allahu Akbar, then the sahabah RA started attacking and eventually won the battle. When they returned to Madinah, the army informed Prophet SAW about this, so the amir was asked. The amir replied, we will not win by our strength, we can only win with the help of Allah. I told them not to attack because I want to assure that the help of Allah is with us when we're attacking. When I saw the angels descending from heaven, then I shouted Allahu Akbar.

Somebody asked Ali RA, who is the bravest sahabi? Ali RA, himself who lifted the Khaibar gate that required 40 people to lift it, said, the most bravest sahabi is Abu Bakar RA. When Rasul SAW made open da'wah in Masjidil Haram, and people started beating him, nobody said anything except Abu Bakar RA, who said, "Are you killing somebody just because he said his Rabb is Allah?" And even Abu Bakar RA got beaten himself. His words resemble the words of a person in the court of Firaun, but Abu Bakar RA words are much precious because he uttered it immediately, whereas the person in the court of Firaun said them after some arguments and discussions.

Buy an item for its price, do not buy the people's needs

A Jew and his son had to sell their horse in the market. A sahabi RA came and want to buy the horse. The Jew told him that the price is 200 dirham, but the sahabi RA said that he'll pay 1200 dirham instead. The Jew is so shocked, he said don't make fun of us. The sahabi RA said, I'm involved in horse-trading, so I know the actual value of this horse. The Jew then asked, why don't you agree with the lower price then? The sahabi RA said, our Prophet SAW advised us to buy the item's price, not the people's need. The Jew and his son are so amazed, they embraced Islam on the spot. Upon seeing this, the sahabi RA said, now that you've become Muslim, you are my brothers, how can you come by horse, and I let you go home walking by foot? Take this horse as a gift from me.

Markaziyat

Markaziyat

Bila dakwah jadi amal ijtima'i dan percakapan harian

When da'wa become a collective effort and seeps into daily conversations

- story of Ummu Aiman RA that travelled outside the town while fasting, couldn't make back to the town while coming back before the iftar time - she prayed to Allah, so a pail comes down from the sky - after she drank, the pail returned back to the sky and she continues her journey back to the town

- story of Hassan and Hussain RA playing at Masjid Nabawi during Isya' prayer - Nabi SAW asked them, go back to your mother's house - Fatimah RA's house is not as close as Prophets' wives house around the Masjid Nabawi - Hassan and Hussain RA still small at that time (when Nabi SAW passed away, their ages are 6 and 7 years old) - as soon as they stepped out of the masjid, a lightning struck the night and the lightning stays frozen for awhile, enough for them to go back to their house - companions RA narrated that as if it was bright as daylight in the night

- story of Hujr bin Adi RA caught and imprisoned - had a wet dream and asked for water to bathe but refused - he bargained that the guard gave him his ration of drinking water in advance so that he can take bathe, and the guard does not need to give him water for several days - but the guard refused, fearing that Hujr RA will die of thirst and he'll be scolded for that - Hujr RA made doa to Allah - a black cloud appears and enters his prison, and his prison only, causing rain - he made bathe there and then - (epilogue: his friend seeing this miracle, asked Hujr RA to pray that they be released - Hujr RA prayed to Allah to decide what's best for them - they were later executed and died as martyrs)

Bittifaq muqaddar, 2.5 jam harian, taalim

Once, 2 people in Nizamuddin were having conversation when Hadratji overhead them saying again and again "bittifaq" ("coincidence / kebetulan"). So, Hadratji advised them to change it to "muqaddar" ("fated / ditakdirkan"), because this reflects iman.

***

Adab gash - we don't have to wait for womenfolk to open the door, or asked us. Straightaway we asked them if there is manfolk at home.

***

2.5 hours: - Ruh of maqami amal. - If alone, find another person to see another person. - When Hj Abdul Wahab sab started mentioning 8 hours a day, the brothers said, we're not even accomplishing 2.5 hours a day, how can you start speaking about 8 hours a day? Eventually when 8 hours are mentioned again and again, more brothers accomplish 2.5 hours  a day.

***

Taalim is to bring light / nur into our selves / houses. Giving daawah everyday but not listening to taalim is not good because our speech is void of nur, unlike Quran and hadith.

***

***

2.5 jam harian:
- Roh kepada usaha tempatan
- Jika seorang, cari rakan yang lain.
- Apabila Hj Abdul Wahab sab mula- mula menyebut amalan 8 jam harian, para ahbab berkata, kami belum pun dapat lagi menyempurnakan 2.5 jam harian, bagaimana mungkin tuan mula menyebut tentang 8 jam?
